By Sriraam Selvam, 15 June 2018: Chennai-based Monotech Systems focused the overall theme of the exhibition on digital print enhancement, print finishing and displayed a range of post-press equipment during during PrintExpo 2018 held in Chennai from 8 to 10 June.
“Year on year, we have seen a growing focus on print enhancement and digital print finishing. Therefore, we decided to use this opportunity to showcase our range of digital print enhancement and finishing equipment from our global principles, such as, GMP, Sysform, and Dumor. Digital print finishing with BOPP lamination films, non–tearable media, digital sleeking and foiling solutions were also on display from brands like ValuePro, Derprosa, etc. An exclusive sample gallery of Scodix for print enhancement was on display too,” said Akash Kumar, senior manager, marketing and communications, Monotech Systems.
“We have also displayed exclusive samples from our own brand DigiLaser (eight installations in four months) laser-cutting and engraving system being used for creating multiple applications where wedding photo album covers are trending. We also have introduced high-level multi-purpose UV flatbed printer from GCC, Taiwan, which offers flexibility to create a wide range of applications with embossing and texture effects,” he added.
India’s first GCC JF-240UV has been installed at Pro Lab, Bengaluru.The company also displayed its own branded DigiCut and DigiBind range of perfect binder and paper-cutting machines for commercial printers. There are many offerings from the company under DigiBind brand that includes sewing, case-making, paper-folding, three knife trimming, and post-press equipment.
“In the last couple of years, the cutting machine offerings from us (Itotec and Digicut) have been successful for us. In fact, we are close to 50 installations for these machines,” said Kumar.
The newly-launched Canon TX 5400, a 44-inches professional large-format printer with scanning system from Contex, Oce PlotWave 345 plotter and Canon 671e large-format printers were also on display at the stand.
Talking about the overall business growth, Kumar said, “We have been able to achieve acceptable growth in our turnover and bottom lines in spite of the uncertainties brought about by GST and demonetisation. Our flagship products from our brands Pixeljet and Jetsci have been beating our own expectation with its performance. Pixeljet UV flatbed printers have more than 100 installations so far in different industrial application segment. Jetsci inkjet presses has crossed 110 installations with a huge demand from the overseas market,” explained Kumar.
“In 3D printing, we have displayed Olivetti desktop 3D printer. We also have recently partnered with Massivit, Israel for offering large-format 3D printers for advertising. Our managed services under the name, Metamorph Print Services for 3D printing services has been doing extremely well and was in fact named as one of the top 20 most promising 3D service providers in India,” concluded Kumar.
